Professional or Intermediate Clarinets (listed in alphabetical order)

BUFFET

BUFFET PARIS CRAMPON R13. pitched in the key of "A", #67388 (1961)
Nice earlier period, very well respected, Buffet "R13" clarinet pitched in the Key of A (much sought after by orchestral players) with Nickel plated keys. This clarinet is also characterized by a beautifully thick and dense Grenadilla Wood makeup. No Cracks or repaired cracks on this one.  Comes with our A1 Service. This was previously repadded recently and checked by us. Comes with the original Buffet R13 66” barrel. It plays great.
The one and only master woodwind repair technician Mike Hammer with very singular ability opened up the bore on the top tenon on this; restoring much of the fullness of the sound as when it was new. Makes a difference! You can tell!
Plays very well! Good price on this one! Comes in a nice double case, ok condition, latches working $2350 (Brand new, these are priced at $4437+)
BUFFET PARIS CRAMPON "Pre" R13. pitched in the key of "A", #36162 (late 1940's, early 1950's)
Nice, not too early Buffet A Clarinet. These are rare, Buffets in A. Newly repadded (Cork pads on the top). with professionally polished key work. No cracks or repaired cracks. Plays very well! Good price on this one! $1800.00
BUFFET PARIS CRAMPON R13. pitched in the key of "Bb", #94990 (1967)
This range of a relatively early period Buffet "R13" clarinet pitched in the Key of Bb, in that late 1960’s to early 70’s range of #90,000 to #115000 or so has a great reputation and is well sought after. It has a centered, small bore-ish sound, but is full, resonant, louder, and rich with overtones and character.  I believe this has Nickel plated keys. Open sounding, very vibrant full-bodied sound. This clarinet is also characterized by a beautifully thick and dense Grenadilla Wood makeup. No Cracks or repaired cracks on this one. Completely and newly repadded by a master technician, with cork pads on the top. Original case in particularly good condition. Plays very well! Good price on this one! $1800. (Brand new, these keep going up in price and are listed at $3915 on Woodwind and Brasswind!)
BUFFET PARIS CRAMPON R13. pitched in the key of "Bb", #55105 (1956)
Nice very early period Buffet "R13" clarinet pitched in the Key of Bb. We know it is an R13 because it has the separation of key mechanisms for the middle G# and A keys as well as the cut outs in the wood below the right pinky keys. Very importantly it has the full resonant sound of an R13. Nickel plated keys. This clarinet is also characterized by a beautifully thick and dense Grenadilla Wood makeup. No Cracks or repaired cracks on this one. Completely and newly repadded by a master technician. Original case in okay condition. Plays very well! Good price on this one! $1650 (Brand new, these are priced at $4092)
Pre-R13 Buffet Clarinet, #43739 (1952)
This clarinet has the Buffet R13 characteristic "Cut-Outs" beneath the right pinky cluster of keys, but does not have the definitive characteristic middle/throat tone G# and A keys set apart as different key mechanisms. Polished keys, Repadded, plays great. No cracks or repaired cracks. **We recently tested this and it plays with a very full, sweet sound; plays very much like an R13. We stand by the value here; it’s a great playing clarinet! $1150
BUFFET PARIS CRAMPON "Pre" R13. pitched in the key of Bb, #36748 (late 1940's, early 1950's)

SELMER

Selmer “Brevette”  #A1179 (1920's to early 1930's)
-Selmer Paris “Brevette S.G.D.G” Wood clarinet. Serial # A1179. This is a special clarinet. This is a very early defintely professional Selmer model, that probably dates back to the 1920's. The serial numbers listed online for these Selmers are inconclusive for this model; we have placed this dating back to the '20's-30's. As such, and with the original 64 mm barrel, it plays well in tune through the clarion register, but it is a little sharp above high G (right above the staff), and somewhat more above high C.
Several Special Features:
-All new pads-white, corks and felts. Overhauled by a master repairman with over 40 years experience. Tested by us. (I am a pro woodwind artist. check my web site.) Good spring action. Good solid color to wood. Has these special features:
-Articulated G# mechanism, (with the hole through the bottom cork on the upper tenon),  which works well.
-Low C to C# (or conversely middle G to G#) trill key in the right hand (place before/above the alternate low B/middle F# trill key)
-Plateau like Ring on that low C/middle G key
Also, At the upper tenon, around the insigna, and above the middle A and to the below the two trill key pad cups adjacent, this clarinet has been pinned in some at least four places. This was not done by us, but was done at some point previously, perhaps some time ago. There are no other cracks or repaired cracks save for a a small hairline at the top tenon, near the pinning above the A key. Priced fairly at $750.00
Serie 9 Selmer Paris Depose Clarinet, #T1200 (1963)
